The Tourism, Food and Wine Sector

By ranking South Australia fifth in a list of the top ten regions in the world to visit in 2017, Lonely Planet confirmed what locals have known for years – that South Australia is a great place to live, work and play.

The tourism, food and wine industry will play a key role in transforming our economy. 4,000 new tourism jobs have already emerged between 2013 and 2015, with South Australia easily outperforming all other states and territories in tourism job growth, and breaking all records by achieving over $1 billion of tourism expenditure earlier this year.

The world’s demand for premium produce from a clean, green and safe environment continues to rise rapidly, creating vast opportunities for South Australia’s food and beverage industries to leverage growing demand and expand. South Australia’s brand is increasingly recognised as synonymous with food and wine of unparalleled quality across the globe. With demand soaring domestically and internationally, including the emerging markets of Asia, South Australia’s food and wine sectors are uniquely well-placed to grow fast, creating more jobs for South Australians.

JOBEX Adelaide will feature over 100 of the State’s leading businesses including SkyCity Casino and Costa Group from the Tourism, Food and Wine sector.
