The Energy and Mining Sector

JOBEX Adelaide will feature 24 of the State’s leading Energy and Mining businesses including Neoen, Tesla, Solar Reserve, Santos, BHP and OZ Minerals.

South Australia is seizing new opportunities as the world pursues more efficient ways of living and working. Our State leads Australia in renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, and is developing internationally recognised expertise in water security and treatment, as well as waste management.

Mining continues to be a major industry in South Australia, with new mining projects starting regularly.

The State Government is investing in initiatives that will create new energy industry jobs here in South Australia supported by the $550 million energy plan ensuring more of the State’s power is sourced, generated and controlled in South Australia.

It is estimated that 1,000 full-time jobs will be created through the construction of energy-related initiatives such as the world’s largest lithium-ion battery, the new solar thermal power plant in Port Augusta and the new State-owned power station, with 100 further jobs through increased gas exploration.

This will build a sustainable and reliable energy network, and create more job opportunities for South Australians as the industry continues to grow.
